What is bussel skirt?

A bustle skirt, also known as a bustle dress, was a type of skirt worn in the late 19th century. It featured fabric or netting that was gathered at the back of the skirt, creating a prominent and exaggerated shape. Bustle skirts were typically worn over a petticoat or crinoline to give additional structure to the shape. They were popular during the Victorian era and were most commonly worn by upper-class women. The bustle skirt went out of fashion in the early 20th century as the silhouette of women's clothing became more streamlined and less bulky. Today, bustle skirts are primarily used for period costumes and historical reenactments.
